And just like the sun slowly coming back after the winter, we are planning our return to you over the next months:

*Starting next week we’ll be publishing regular 𝗯𝗹𝗼𝗴 𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗹𝗲𝘀 featuring selected items from Berlin-based small businesses according to different thematics. First one on the list: “𝘉𝘦𝘳𝘭𝘪𝘯'𝘴 𝘮𝘰𝘴𝘵 𝘪𝘤𝘰𝘯𝘪𝘤 𝘴𝘰𝘶𝘷𝘦𝘯𝘪𝘳𝘴” 👌

*In no more than a month we want to launch our 𝗯𝗲𝘁𝗮 𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗻𝗲𝘄 𝘄𝗲𝗯𝘀𝗶𝘁𝗲. It for sure won’t be perfect, but “𝘩𝘦𝘺! 𝘥𝘰𝘯𝘦 𝘪𝘴 𝘣𝘦𝘵𝘵𝘦𝘳 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘯 𝘱𝘦𝘳𝘧𝘦𝘤𝘵” 😉 and will only include a short selection of small businesses to start with. The idea is to have a showcase example of what the project is about before to reach out to more small businesses, instead of having you all registering to something that you have no idea about!

*Real ‘𝗳𝘂𝗹𝗹 𝗹𝗮𝘂𝗻𝗰𝗵’ is scheduled for June. By then we hope to have all of you listed! That will be our big public (re)launch too, so we hope that it will be loud and noisy!! 🤪

The project is still non-profit but we really hope to be able to convince some key decision makers of Berlin institutions to sponsor us, because we’re gonna need extra manpower to do all the things we want to do 😄

Any advice/recommendation in that direction is more than welcome ;)

We’re still in the process of re-defining further 𝘄𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗦𝗺𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝗕𝘂𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗲𝘀 𝗕𝗲𝗿𝗹𝗶𝗻 𝗶𝘀 𝗮𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁, 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘸𝘩𝘰𝘮 𝘪𝘵 𝘪𝘴 𝘦𝘹𝘢𝘤𝘵𝘭𝘺, but here is what we can share as of now:

• We will most likely drift away from the previous magazine format and work on a website to be able to continuously add and edit listings of new small businesses. We’re still deliberating on what exactly should be on the website (people, places, projects, products..?) but it will for sure have features like map search and thematic filters (see point #3).

• We want to focus on 𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘭𝘭𝘺 small businesses. Entrepreneurs whose ends don’t meet. Artists who struggle to make a living out of their passion. People who dream to turn their side hustle into their full-time activity. There are enough influencers and content makers sharing knowledge about well-established businesses. We want to make a difference and dedicate ourselves to those that are barely heard and seen.

• We want to promote a colorful, sustainable, open-minded and fair Berlin*. This doesn’t mean that we will ‘only’ list such businesses, but we will make sure to give an extra push and visibility to those of you who are working hard towards minimal environmental footprint, equal pay/chances for all, transparency and fair revenues for offshore labor, etc. There are enough businesses on earth valuing profit before humans and the planet - we see things differently.

*𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘭𝘪𝘴𝘵 𝘪𝘴 𝘢𝘤𝘵𝘶𝘢𝘭𝘭𝘺 𝘮𝘶𝘤𝘩 𝘭𝘰𝘯𝘨𝘦𝘳 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘯 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘵. 𝘞𝘦’𝘳𝘦 𝘸𝘰𝘳𝘬𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘰𝘯 𝘥𝘦𝘭𝘪𝘮𝘪𝘵𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘪𝘵 𝘧𝘶𝘭𝘭𝘺.

We’re finally back to business - or should we say back to 𝚂𝚖𝚊𝚕𝚕 𝙱𝚞𝚜𝚒𝚗𝚎𝚜𝚜𝚎𝚜 𝙱𝚎𝚛𝚕𝚒𝚗 😉

I’ve been willing to give a second start to the project for a few weeks now. I was trying to get financial support from the city or a corporate company to sponsor my pro-bono time, but since it doesn’t seem to be fruitful right now, I’m just back as I was: free and independent 😌 Who knows, maybe once this grows we will attract all these $$$ 😅 but that’s not the end goal of this project - never was and never will be.

My goal remains the same as before: to promote 𝗬𝗢𝗨 - 𝘴𝘮𝘢𝘭𝘭 𝘣𝘶𝘴𝘪𝘯𝘦𝘴𝘴𝘦𝘴 𝘰𝘧 𝘉𝘦𝘳𝘭𝘪𝘯 - so that local buyers know where to find independent artists & entrepreneurs.

To get there, we first need an audience! At the moment this account is mostly followed by small businesses, which is great (❤️) but for us to grow all together we need all the berliners we can get here!! So give us a head start and share this post with your followers - and let us become one big giant family 🫶
